The Story of the Day

Tabitha Ivan (center right) |
Today we sandwiched a life skills workshop around a prep and visit to a special hospital center. The life skills workshop was hosted by Unitus. My mentor, Amanda Otto, joined me in classes on nutrition and well-being, money management and credit protection, financial responsibility and job seeking skills.
We also arranged flowers at a center that takes donated flowers and delivers them to hospices. Later in the day, we took these bouquets to Providence. The children there were not able to interact with us; most were severely disabled and no older mentally than infants. It makes me profoundly sad when I meet people who cannot interact with others.
